 Bijapur is a city in the southern Indian state of Karnataka. It was established by the Adil Shahi dynasty in 1686 and is considered one of the largest cities in Karnataka. It is located on the Deccan Plateau, near the Gol Gumbaz, an important monument.

  • Shivagiri Temple -The Shivagiri Temple is a Hindu temple dedicated to Lord Shiva. It is located in the village of Shivagiri, in the state of Karnataka, India. The temple was constructed in 959 AD by the Rashtrakuta king Krishna III and was renovated by his son-in-law, Chalukya king Tailapa II.


  • Jami Masjid -The Jami Masjid or Friday Mosque, which was built by Malik Ambar in 1576, is also a popular tourist destination. It was built with stones that were brought from Mecca and Medina on orders of Malik.
